Photosynth - Lichen lab & performance

Photosynth Social Club: Summer Beat Camp & Sound Bathhouse during Pixelache Festival ‘Glitchez’. This happened in Cable Factory and expedition to Tarvo Kitchen Lab with the society co-founders Tessa Zettel & Sumugan Sivanesan, lichen and other human artists.

The Sound Bathhouse audio-visual-somatic performance was presented during the festival 10 June 2023 after the camp and lab.

We were exploring the areas in postindustrial culture hub Cable Factory and natural island Tarvo where different kinds of lichen lives and adapts to the surroundings. Lichen was invited to lichen-selfies which were synthesised into samples, discovering in collaboration how to play these with open-source software while seeking interesting patterns and vibes.
