Texts and image layers floating on a dark space Texts and image layers floating on a dark space

In, Bleb is in a state of becoming between the virtual and the organic world. The cave-like space formed inside the clay sculpture contains poetry text, sound and the edges of the forest. The work is in progress and a continuation of the practice in virtual poetry in different spaces and platforms. The practice is guided by nonlinear narrative, layering, glitches and corporeality.

Parts of the 3D scanned shapes have been scraped off organically as part of the digitisation process. The texts are originally hand-written poetic notes about bodily-being at incorporeal space. The sound consists of field recordings of the organic and machine-coloured environments mixed with kalimba.

The 3D scans are made in the forest of Laajasalo and on Harakka island. Sounds are field recordings in human-built environments with the presence of e.g. freezers or heaters which help to adjust space to be suitable for humans.

Supported by the Arts Promotion Centre (Taike) 2024–2025. The conceptual and textual work started in the Zaratan residency in October 2023, thank you for the space and support. The VR work started in a workshop for selected artists in November 2023 as a cooperation of MUU Helsinki Contemporary Centre and Animation Guild, thank you Leena Jääskeläinen, Kristina Laine and Albert Laine.
